I designed three unique side tables as part of an open brief from Hiro, a brand known for its minimalist, colorful, and metal-based house accessories. Although not intended as a cohesive collection, each piece reflects Hiro's signature style while offering distinct options for a versatile side table.
The brief called for a side table that could also function over a couch, catering to modern, flexible living spaces. My designs emphasize simplicity in form, with clean lines and practical proportions, balancing aesthetics with utility.
Each table explores the interplay of shape, color, and material, with bold hues that elevate their understated metal frames. These pieces are not only functional but designed to complement any contemporary living environment, aligning with Hiro's ethos of creating elegant yet playful home accessories.
Trazo comes in two sizes—50x50x55 cm and 40x40x45 cm—featuring a distinctive V-shaped structure that serves as both the top surface and one of the legs. This striking geometric form is balanced by a straight, minimal support that ensures stability while maintaining the design's open, airy aesthetic. Constructed through welding, Trazo arrives fully assembled, blending durability with a refined, contemporary look.
Aura, also available in two sizes (40x45x45 cm and 50x55x55 cm), is crafted entirely from metal. Its design combines a smoothly curved L-shaped base with a sleek, straight panel for added stability. The contrast between the soft curves and sharp lines creates a harmonious balance, giving Aura an elegant yet modern edge. Aura is welded for strength and comes ready to use.
Bombi offers three variations, two of which come in sizes of 35x35x43 cm and 40x45x55 cm. This side table is crafted from a single bent sheet of metal, embodying Hiro’s signature simplicity and elegance. Its elongated D-shaped tabletop is designed to slide over a sofa for added convenience. A third version of Bombi incorporates a metal grid on the sides, transforming the D-shaped base into an open storage feature, offered in a size of 35x35x43 cm. All Bombi designs arrive fully assembled, blending functionality with sleek, modern design.
